How does it feel to be selected for the Alumni 100 list?
"It's an honour to be selected to the Alumni 100 list. I had a great experience at the University of Edinburgh Business School that prepared me well for my role in an international organisation."
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"I chose the Business School because of the unique Carbon Management programme that was offered. The school was on the leading edge of universities and programmes focused on how globally and through business practices we could effectively address climate change."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"My best memories are of the cohort I studied with and had deep discussions with. It was also the opportunity to be engaged in such a topic of profound interest and importance."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"It's important to be flexible and adapt to fast changing circumstances, to be willing to accept stretch goals and challenges, and to approach work with a positive attitude."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"One of many key things that have stayed with me is the importance of collaboration and coordinating input across group efforts."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"I'm tremendously proud of the work my whole organisation is doing to achieve universal access to sustainable energy for all. The opportunity to contribute to that, to support an inspiring organisation and CEO that is having a global impact, is profound. On a more personal level, one of my proudest achievements was bringing together experts from around the world to a set of Charrettes we organised to use design thinking to come up with new and innovative solutions to the energy access challenge."
