After an established career in the investment industry with roles at Standard Life and Scottish Widows, Joseph took the leap into entrepreneurialism following his Executive 91´óÉñ.
How does it feel to be selected for the Alumni 100 list?
"It's an honour to be selected in the Alumni 100 list alongside some incredibly talented people."
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"It's clearly the best business school in Scotland!"
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"It was bloody hard! Holding down a demanding job and studying at the same time was difficult, but very rewarding. Surviving an accounting class after a hard week at work makes you feel like you can achieve anything."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"To search out insight from bright people from an array of industries."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"I had a challenging but rewarding 15-year career in the investment industry that I thought had prepared me well to start my own business. How wrong I was. Starting a business from scratch has been unbelievably tough. I'm proud of the resilience I've shown to keep going! I have a new-found respect for entrepreneurs."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"People skills. Business is about relationships."
