Experts from companies including Skyscanner, Morphsuits, Social Bite and Vegware have shared their top marketing tips in Introduction to Marketing: Tools to Set Enterprises Apart.
The six-week course will help online learners get to grips with how successful businesses use marketing to increase revenue, profit and grow. In an increasingly competitive market, the new MOOC will focus on the marketing skills vital to making companies stand out, build loyalty and long-term impact.
Delivered through the EdX platform, the programme features easy to follow video guides from the School’s leading academics and draws on Edinburgh and Scotland’s growing status as a hub for enterprise and tech, to share practical examples.
At a time when personal brand has become so important, the MOOC has also been designed to help online learners better market themselves to potential employers or business partners.
The University of Edinburgh has been an early adopter and leader in MOOC development. To date, more than 2 million people have signed up to Edinburgh courses across a range of subject areas.
Professor Malcolm Kirkup, Director of Educational Innovation at University of Edinburgh Business School, said:
We want to take online learners on a journey that will help them understand the role of marketing in making companies, public organisations and even individuals more successful. Working with some of Edinburgh and Scotland’s best entrepreneurial talent we’ve crafted a programme that draws on real world experience to give people taking part the practical tools they need to market themselves or their business.
University MOOCs do not have formal credits assigned to them, however Statements of Accomplishment will be available, for a small fee, to any learner who completes a course.
