The position secures the MSc in Finance and Investment’s place among an elite of international finance programmes.
The rankings which evaluate pre-experience programmes – aimed at new graduates with little or no professional experience – are based on alumni feedback, programme diversity and international reach.
The recognition comes on the back of a successful period for the School, in which it ranked 16th in the UK and second in Scotland – according to research power – in the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessment.
The School’s Accountancy and Finance programmes were also placed 45th – up two places – in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, earlier this year.
Professor Ian Clarke, University of Edinburgh Business School Dean, said:
“We are pleased to see our MSc in Finance and Investment perform so well in the rankings.
“To be placed among the top 30 internationally reflects the dedication of our faculty to delivering world leading teaching and learning, and cutting-edge insights.
“It is also testament to our commitment to equip students with the skills and experience they need to prosper in an increasingly complex and dynamic financial world.”
Dr Arman Eshraghi, Director of the MSc in Finance and Investment programme, said:
“The recognition in this year’s rankings further cements the position of our MSc in Finance and Investment among the international elite of finance programmes.
“It is particularly pleasing to see the programme improve its standing against a larger pool of global schools this year, with the addition of several new entrants for 2015.
“The latest figures also suggest a considerable increase in the average salary of our alumni in recent years.”
During the past 12 months, the School has joined the 1% of business schools worldwide to be ‘triple-accredited’ by international ranking bodies, AACSB, EQUIS and A91.
It also climbed ten places in the Economist’s top 100 91 rankings, and gained A91 accreditation for the Executive 91 (E91) programme.
