The China UK Entrepreneurship Challenge aims to encourage new business ventures between China and the United Kingdom, and is intended to simulate the real-world process of entrepreneurs seeking start-up funds from early-stage investors and venture capital firms.
The competition is open to university teams – both students and post docs – in the UK and China. If selected, teams will compete for a £5,000 cash prize and an investment of £250,000 in the best business plan.
The China-UK Entrepreneurship competition has run since 2006, with the aim of inspiring young entrepreneurs in universities and local businesses in the UK and China to develop sustainable high growth business ventures between China and the UK, foster deep institutional links between the UK and China partners to further their respective research agendas in innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership and support China in implementing its independent innovation strategy through effective entrepreneurship.
Initial registration, proposal submission and selection deadline is 5pm Monday 14th April 2014.
